HC experience--Drawing a Picture of Yourself

Reflections on HC Activity--Drawing a Picture of Yourself

• Brief Introduction of the Activity:

Every day, we look at ourselves in the mirror. These faces in front of us are those we can’t be too familiar with. We may think we know ourselves quite well. But, close your eyes and draw yourself with a pencil now. What will happen?

• Outcomes:

“Other people’s faces” or even cannot be recognized as “face”.

• Reflections:

1. We are not really so familiar with the real ourselves as we imagined we were. The reality may come out totally different from the thoughts in our minds.

Interpretation:

a> There is room to grow, the room for us to discover the real us inside our souls and develop them.

b> The things we firmly believed may not turn out to be right. We should learn to be more rational instead of emotional

2. Even ourselves cannot one hundred percent understand ourselves, let alone others.

Interpretation:

The conflicts between us and others are totally understandable because of the aforementioned findings. So when come across misunderstandings, we should be more tolerant and serene. Try to find the problem and show the “HOST” you to your friends or even your “enemies”. Let the facts prove everything. (Of course, this is in case you were not in fault)

3. The feeling with your open eyes is dissimilar.

Interpretation:

With your eyes open, everything is taken for granted. While, when sometimes, you have to close your eyes or face a dark, unknown world, fear and horror will come along. Facing with the hard part of life, remember: Be brave, hold the paintbrush in your hands, and draw the colorful blueprint of your life with your own efforts. You’ll be proud of yourself!
